a boy and a flea
sat down to read
twas odd to sea
while along the brook
a frog and a beetle
chewed licorice
twas odd indeed
as a pink cloud looked
down and the wind
whistled till the sun
did frown and dose below
looked up end staired
as the moon towards dusk
moo’ed lowly in space
bee on the clouds were
geese and mice flying
two a warmer place
sew why the buoy asked
as the flee turned to listen
did the frog n the beetle

Across from us

Across the road lies a river
past our doorstep it crawls …
as winter approaches.
Brown leaves slowly fall,
while awaiting the spring’s
noisy birds splashing colors;
then once again fall,
but first there is summer.

as time will tell within a field
beyond the stone
that fences yield
in darkness when the wind is still -
the murmering of
a distant brook
invites the moon to stop n look
for steps that reach to touch the hill
upon the glen it overlooks
and there they lie - in shadows blanket
those that time has overtook
among the stones one beckons me
